A group of Zongo youth in Winneba in the Effutu constituency in the Central Region have condemned the recent attacks by some individuals on the personality of the Member of Parliament for the area, Alex Afenyo Markin.
According to the youth, the allegation that the MP used a letterhead belonging to Sulemana Salaga IV, Chief of Winneba Zongo to solicit for funds is false.
Speaking to Citi News, Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, youth leader of the Muslim community in Winneba indicated that they have not authorized any individual to speak on behalf of Winneba Zongo and that the allegation against the Member of Parliament must be rejected.
“We have not authorized anyone to speak on our behalf especially Farrakhan who is telling people that Afenyo Markin used a letterhead belonging to the Zongo Chief to collect monies for himself. It is sad for someone who claims to be a Muslim and from Zongo to insult Afenyo Markin who has done so much for the Zongo communities in its entirety and who has so much believe in our faith”, Alhaji Zubairu Kassim said.
Zubairu Kassim indicated that the Zongo Chief Sulemana Salaga IV condemns the recent attacks on the MP.
“We the youth of Winneba Zongo have lived in peace with our elders and the Member of Parliament since time in memorial may Allah forgive anyone for offending our faith by attacking the MP,” he added.
