Floods wreak havoc in Upper East Region [Infographic]

Heavy rains this week in the Upper East Region has left some 29 persons injured and about 19 others dead due to flood-related incidents including electrocution and drowning.

Many residents have been displaced as a result of the floods.

Some of the worst affected areas include Builsa North, Builsa South and Kassena Nankana Municipal.

The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) says it is sending relief items to support persons affected by the floods.

The items organized for the affected people include roofing sheets, maize, rice, plastic buckets, bowls and mosquito nets.
