Frytol launches cooking reality show to support Ghanaian food businesses

Wilmar Africa Limited, the producers of oil brand, Frytol, has launched the Frytol “Enriching Lives Cooking Competition”.

The competition is aimed at supporting talents across the country in meal preparations and other culinary disciplines.

According to Senior brand manager for Wilmar Africa, Eva Njeru the competition is also to empower profitable food businesses in the country.

Speaking at the launch of the cooking competition, Eva Njeru, explained that the reality show competition will last for a period of 13 weeks with the winner taking home GH¢100,000 worth of investments.

“The carefully designed reality show will empower individuals who will be measured on their culinary skills, presentation skills, business acumen and communications skills. So it’s not just about giving money to them, we want to empower them to be able start up their own culinary business. We will also train, support and mentor the best candidate to start their dream business,” she said

She said all 10 contestants have already been selected after an auditioning process.

The contestants for the reality show competition will be evaluated by a panel of judges each week.

The public can also contribute to the competition by voting for their favorite contestant on the shot code 161.

A contestant will be evicted until a winner is crowned.

“The show promises to be exciting and informative with a health and nutrition segment accompanied by sizzling drama as people from different backgrounds come together under one roof to compete for the enviable prize,” Njeru added.
