The Managers of Ghana Rugby, have once again acknowledged one of its lead sponsors for consistently supporting the game.
Managers of the team say without the support of Mr. Isaac Hu, CEO of Sunda International (Ghana) and Twyford Ceramics, the Ghana Eagles would not have been able to prepare properly for the 2019 Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens in South Africa.
Mr. Hu by chance ran into the Ghana Eagles squad in Nairobi just before they boarded their final flight to South Africa.
In August 2019, the President of Ghana Rugby, Mr. Herbert Mensah, showered similar praises on the main sponsors of the WARS (West African rugby Series), and the Ghana-Nigeria Presidents’ Cup rugby tournament – Sunda International and GB Foods, for having ensured the success of the events.
“Even though the Ghana Eagles narrowly missed out on winning their matches, the tournament has been hailed by all participants as an overwhelming success that Ghana as a country can be proud of. These accolades came as a direct result of the sponsorship by Sunda International and GB foods by way of their Gino brands,” Mensah said.
In messages to the sponsors from his home in London, Mensah said that the tremendous success as testified to by Nigeria and Ivory Coast as well as by the governing body, Rugby Africa, was in no small part due to the contributions in kind and in cash by Sunda International and GB Foods.
“We can only develop sports with corporate involvement. Rugby is a unique sport for all genders and ages, and it helps everybody. For young kids, it brings discipline for themselves and a level of respect for authority. It also develops a commitment to a recreational activity that they enjoy tremendously. Your support plays a big part in all of that,” Mensah said.
