The Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West Constituency, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has said she never tagged Ghanaians as witches for criticising the Akufo-Addo government.
A statement from her outfit said the MP “merely touted the NPP government’s achievements as remarkable and tangible and asserted that only blind propagandists would feign ignorance of these visible achievements which were obvious and touched every home in the country”.
Ursula Owusu-Ekuful who is also the Minister of Communications was reported to have said that, only witches are complaining of hardship in Ghana under the Akufo-Addo government.
“If someone complains that since the NPP came he/she has not benefitted from anything ask the person if he or she did not hear the sound of rain did he/she not see the ground wet when they came out? Is this not witchcraft? When someone is complaining shut the person down”, she reportedly said at an NPP youth summit held recently.
But in the statement, Ursula’s communications outfit indicated that she didn’t make such a reference but she only charged the NPP youth to trumpet President Akufo-Addo’s achievements.
The statement urged the public to disregard such false media reports and treat them with the contempt they deserve.
”Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful respects the right of all Ghanaians to have their own opinions about any issue though she may not agree with it. She will continuously proclaim the envious achievements of the NPP Government to all and not relent in defusing the false reportage and vile propaganda put out by others,” the statement further indicated.
