The Managing Director General of Ecobank Ghana, Mr. Daniel Sackey has encouraged his employees to cultivate the habit of exercising and having good diets for a healthy lifestyle.
He said this to mark the opening ceremony of the Ecobank Day 2019 Health Walk.
The event was to create awareness on Non-Communicable Disease, NCD and was on the theme “Non-Communicable Disease; Prevention and Health Promotion”.
Addressing the staff and the media at the event, Mr Sackey says it is necessary for one to engage in these activities especially staffs of Ecobank who sit all day to perform their duties which is against good health.
“If you can walk, within the confine of your offices, you can take a minute walk just to stretch your legs to improve your health and if can’t walk, at least do the other side by improving your diet. Improving the protein content and make sure that you the basic things that would give you good health”.
On 5th October this year, Ecobank launched a three-year Health Campaign under the theme “preventing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in Africa Communities” across 33 affiliated countries with the aim of promoting the fight against Non-Communicable Disease.
This walk was in collaboration with the Ecobank Day agenda and the World Diabetes day which would happen on the 14th of November, 2019.
