The Kpeshie Divisional Police Command in Accra has arrested four persons for imitating products of Gihoc Distilleries Ghana Limited.
The four, including a 16-year-old, are Alarbi Bortei, Armah Mensah, Isaac Laryea and Lawrence Obli Armah.
They were arrested at their hideout at Spintex where they produced alcoholic beverages in commercial quantities.
Three out of the four are in police custody, while the minor has been granted bail.
Kpeshie Divisional Police Commander, ACP Francis Tsidi, who addressed the media at Teshie after the arrest indicated that the suspects also had fake tax stamps in their possession.
Preliminary investigations show that the tax stamps belong to another accredited beverage company.
The Commander said the four will be processed for court for further investigations into the case, as samples of the product retrieved are sent to the Ghana Standards Authority for testing.
