The lnstitute of Directors (loD-Gh), in collaboration with the African Corporate Governance Network (ACGN), is hosting a two-day international Conference on Corporate Governance, starting Friday, November 22, 2019, to Saturday, November 23, 2019.
The Conference themed “optimizing the Growth of SME’s whiles Globalizing Big corporates: The Role of Good Corporate Governance”, will host over 300 Corporate Directors, in both public and private sectors from 19 African Countries and some affiliates of the institute across the continent.
The Special Guest of Honor for the Conference is the President of Ghana, his Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The IoD has also invited the God Father of Corporate Governance, Professor Mervyn King, who is noted for the King lV Report on Corporate Governance, to give the Keynote address for the Conference on Friday 22nd November.
Prof. King will also lead an Exclusive Masterclass session on Saturday for all Board chairs, Board Members, CEOs and Senior Management.
As part of the Conference, an Awards Night is being organised to recognize the good work of some companies and individuals on the Corporate Governance front.
The Awards Ceremony will see the participation of 42 Industries.
The CEO of the Institute, Rosalyn Darkwa has urged Corporate Ghana to participate and join the drive in sanitizing industries across the nation.
“Good Corporate Governance depends largely on the personal qualities of those who govern”, she said.
“It catalyzes sustained growth and development of organisations and society at large.
“IoD-Gh is seeking to promote a Good Corporate Governance Culture within the Ghanaian business environment and appeals passionately to the PRIVATE, PUBLIC, NGO, SME sectors and civil society in general to embrace this call for the betterment of our dear country Ghana,” Mrs Darkwa added.
