The Women Network Forum of Barclays Bank which is soon to become Absa Ghana Limited has donated various items to the Kayayei Youth Association in the bid to improve their standard of living in Accra.
The Chairman of the Women Network Forum, Antionette Kwofie promised to equip the head porters with life-changing skills.
“This is the first time we are doing this with the Kayayei Foundation but we will continue and adopt them. We will continue to help and teach them savings habits so that they can build a better future for themselves and their children. We will empower them with life skills.”
She reiterated that Absa Ghana Limited is committed to supporting underprivileged people in society, most especially women groups.
This influenced the selection of the Kayayei Youth Association which comprises women who are head porters living in the central business district.
The President of the Kayayei Youth Association, Mohammed Salifu received the items on behalf of the group and called on Ghanaians to be philanthropic.
