Citi FM and Citi TV through singing and poetry recitals yesterday [Sunday] raised funds for the Citi Foundation.
The fundraising event dubbed “The Colours of Christmas” was organized towards the company’s annual charity project dubbed ‘Help A Christmas Child’ initiative on Boxing Day.
This year, the Burns and Reconstructive Unit at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital will be the beneficiary of the station’s charity support.
The Citi Choir filled the night with lots of singing of carols and dancing, not forgetting the nine lessons.
With their own renditions of some popular traditional Christmas carols, the choir kept guests present awed and entertained throughout the event.
Head of TV, Mr Richard Mensah, was the conductor of the choir, with musician Cina Soul and co-judge on Citi TV/FM’s Voice Factory Edinam Bright-Davis leading the choir in singing some of the carols.
The General Manager of Citi FM/TV Bernard Koku Avle delivering the sermon said: “We must be focused on eternal things because you can be great in the sight of men but God has no record of you.”
The extra spice was an auctioning session to accompany the fundraising. Some paintings done by Noah Tetteh, a staff of Citi FM/TV were the objects up for grabs.
The Managing Director of Citi FM/TV Samuel Attah-Mensah encouraged the gathering to be thankful for life always.
“So it is always important to recognize this cycle of one year and that is why we are here, thanking God for another year. I went to Korle-Bu a few weeks ago to the burns unit. What I saw there was very painful which is the reason why we are raising funds for this purpose,” he said.
