2,695,478 persons have also been issued with the Ghana card while 4,291,840 of the cards have been printed since the exercise began.
“It is important to note that presenting false documents or information for the purpose of getting registered for the Ghana Card is an offence punishable by law”, he warned
Professor Agyemang Attafuah assured that the authority was working to ensure all uncollected cards by applicants are issued to them.
He said the authority has noted the challenges that marred the exercise since its start and was working assiduously to resolve them.
He indicated that the authority is expecting to have the highest registration of persons in the Ashanti Region since it has now achieved the full complement of equipment that is needed for the exercise.
He mentioned that the authority’s target to register 2,811,229 persons in the Ashanti Region during the exercise can only be achievable if its trained personnel put out their best and applicants also comport themselves throughout the process.
The NIA boss called on all applicants in the Ashanti Region to comport themselves at the registration centres to ensure a smooth process.
