The Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament has tasked the Police to investigate and find persons responsible for the demolition of property earmarked for the offices of the National Peace Council.
The said property located at Ringway Estates was under renovation with a budget of GHS 400,000 before it was demolished.
Speaking to Citi News, Chairman of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, Seth Acheampong, further urged the police to provide surveillance for the property.
“The party we have no idea about has come to break everything down to ground zero. So, we are charging the police service to take possession of the place since the place is under investigation currently. We will not counter any other person trespassing on this property.”
The committee members expressed shock at the level of destruction during their visit to the site.
They are also demanding police protection for the Peace Council property as investigations into the matter continues.
