Wards at the Kumasi Children’s Home have received support from telecom giant, MTN Ghana after the company handed over a sum of Ghc 30, 000 to managers of the facility.

The amount donated according to the company’s officials was from the gate proceeds accrued from the recently held 2019 edition of Ghana Stands in Worship Concert.

The donation was also to fulfill the company’s promise after it pledged to use the gate proceeds realized from the concert to support charity and the vulnerable in the society.

Speaking after making the presentation to mangers of the foster home, Acting General Manager for MTN Northern Business District; Simon Amoh stressed the company’s commitment to reaching out to the less endowed and the vulnerable in the society especially in the festive season.

“Once more is Christmas time. Christmas is about Love. One thing symbolic about Love is giving. So, there is a need to come in here and show the inmates of the Kumasi Children’s Home our Y’ello Love”, he said

The Kumasi Children’s Home, currently caters for a total of 77 inmates consisting of missing and abandoned children, children whose parents are mentally deranged or are serving prison sentences, orphans and children living with HIV.

The inmates’ range between three months and 28-year old and they comprise of 30 girls and 47 boys.

Home Manageress for the Kumasi Children’s Home, Mable Penamang Amponsah commended MTN Ghana for the gesture and further appealed to other corporate bodies to come to the aid of the facility.
