The Dagbon overlord, Yaa-Naa Abukari Mahama II has hinted of the setting up of a committee of prominent Dagbon chiefs to look into the protracted Agbogbloshie dispute among Dagombas.
The Committee, according to the Naa Gbewaa, will work together with the GIZ-funded Committee of chiefs and opinion leaders in the Greater Accra Region, to find a lasting solution.
The King was speaking when the leadership of the Dagbon community in the Greater Accra Region paid a courtesy call on him at the Gbewaa Palace.
The protracted dispute is usually amongst the Dagomba community in Agbogbloshie, made up of scrap dealers who’re and sharply divided on chieftaincy and political lines.
In 2017 hundreds of scrap dealers lost their property while at least two people died in renewed clashes.
Similar clashes also occurred in 2009.
