One of Ghana’s leading IT and telecommunications solution providers, Subah Infosolutions Ghana Limited, has saved the government of Guinea a total of $7,747,992 million from SIM box fraud.
According to a statement issued by the company, Subah’s intervention came after the Guinean government, through its Telecoms Regulatory Agency, ARPT, contracted Subah Infosolutions to perform an investigation to detect and locate some suspected fraudulent SIM box devices operating on the network of operators in Guinea, thereby saving the Guinean Government the said amount from January, 2019 to November 2019.
“The Government through her Telecoms Regulatory Agency, ARPT, contracted Subah Infosolutions to perform an investigation to detect and locate these suspected fraudulent SIM Box devices operating on the network of operators in Guinea,” the statement said.
“The Guinean government hearing of the great job SUBAH did for Ghana between 2014 to 2017 invited the company to come and assist as the Mobile Network Operators in Guinea were experiencing revenue loss due to fraudulent and unauthorized diversion of International voice calls through SIM Box equipment on various telecommunication mobile network SIM Cards.”
“After a one month of technical and very thorough investigations, Subah (through an implemented Fraud Management System) with her local consulting agents performed this operation, which has saved the Guinean government close to 1.5 million dollars in the month of November, 2019. Subah’s intervention has saved the Guinean Government a total of 7,747,992 million dollars from January, 2019 to November, 2019,” it further noted.
Mr. Eric Nyarko-Aboagye, Chief Operating Officer of the Subah Group, stated that this Guinean contract is a testament to the fact that Subah Infosolutions has what it takes to provide Revenue Assurance and Audit across Africa.
“We continue to build higher competencies in Cybersecurity and have all the necessary equipment to assist African governments to mobilize resources for critical national development. At Subah, we do not only reduce revenue leakage but also stops fraudsters from siphoning revenue from the state,” he said.
RATMS
It will be recalled that Subah’s Revenue Monitoring Assurance and Tax Monitoring System (RATMS) in Ghana saved the nation $43million between 2014 and 2017 as the system ensured that the government and other state agencies got hold of the taxes they were entitled to from telecommunication operators.
“The RATMS is a rigorous system that enables tax authorities to accelerate tax collection via a distributed and scalable multi-threaded architecture configuration that supports multi-vendor and technology networks.
“In 2017, Subah Infosolutions was adjudged the “Best Revenue Assurance, Fraud & Traffic Monitoring Solution” provider at the fourth annual Africa Telecoms Fraud, Revenue Assurance and Risk Management Forum in Kenya,” the statement said.
