Another COVID-19 patient has recovered.
This brings to 3, the total number of people who have recovered from the disease in the country.
The latest Ghana Health Service update on COVID-19 cases in the country indicates that the third person who has recovered has been released to go free having tested negative after extra tests to confirm his recovery.
“Three (3) of the confirmed cases have fully recovered and reverted to negative status for COVID-19 after repeat tests following recovery from symptoms as at 31st March 2020.”
Many discharged
Meanwhile, many of the patients who tested positive for COVID-19 are showing positive signs of recovery.
Such people are discharged. Being discharged in this case means that they are released from their isolation centres to go home (where they have appropriate conditions). They are managed at home and subjected to further tests to confirm that they are truly now negative and free to move around.
It is after this process they will be said to have fully recovered.
According to official data, 18 of those who tested positive within the general population have been discharged, while 31 people among those who tested positive under mandatory quarantine in Accra have also been discharged.
Total case count in Ghana
Meanwhile, nine new cases have been confirmed in the country increasing the total case count to 161.
