The fastest-growing television station in Ghana, Citi TV and its partner, a waste management firm, Zoomlion today [April 3] disinfected the Accra Technical University.
The exercise which forms part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of both companies seeks to keep the campuses safe and clean for use when academic work resumes.
The team is disinfecting some tertiary institutions in the Greater Accra Region.
The Accra Technical University is the third to be disinfected after the University of Ghana and the University of Professional Studies.
The Coordinator for the Citi TV/Zoomlion Voluntary Disinfection Exercise, Lola Asiseh Ashitey said the exercise will continue in two additional campuses– the Central University and Pentecost University College.
Among the equipment used for the disinfection exercise include boom spray machine, automatic hand spraying machine, thermal hand folder machine, phoenix machine and drones spraying certain parts of the campus.
COVID-19 cases in Ghana
Ghana has recorded 566 cases of COVID-19 with eight deaths and four recoveries.
The government announced a two-week extension of the ban on public gatherings as well as a one-week extension of lockdown in Accra, Tema, Kasoa and Kumasi which are epicentres.
