FabriMetal Ghana Limited, a Steel manufacturing Company located in the Tema Metropolis is partnering with the Ministry of Health to provide free cylinders of oxygen to various hospitals across the country.
According to the Managing Director of Fabrimetal Company, Mr Raj Rohit, the kind gesture is to reduce the burden on government in fighting the global pandemic.
‘We have in our small little bit been trying to support the hospitals under the umbrella of the Ministry of Health. We have started with the hospitals at Korle Bu and LEKMA where we have provided oxygen for patients of COVID-19 pandemic.’
Speaking to Citi News, the Human Resource Manager for FabriMetal, Bernard Senyo Avotri indicated that the provision of oxygen is a necessity in reducing the mortality rate in the fight against COVID-19.
“We want to reach out to our brothers and sisters who are in critical conditions because oxygen is needed for them to stay alive…The first donation was 100 bottles to Korle Bu and the next was LEKMA,” he said.
The company has so far donated 100 cylinders and 9 cylinders of oxygen to the Korle Bu Teaching and LEKMA hospitals respectively.
The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Bernard Oko-Boye who received the items said the donation has come at the right time.
“Were using huge sums of money for it since it is a consumable. These funds that were invested in buying the oxygen can now be invested in other areas in the management of the facilities and that will help them to survive and do well in this unusual time.”
“We are thankful to FabriMetal and we are happy they have come at this time we need the most,” he added.
