After weeks heightened anticipation by music fans, the Asaase Sound Clash came alive at the Movenpick Hotel on Saturday, September 12, 2020.
Two of Ghana’s music giants Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were locked in a lyrical duel over who has the best vibes and flow as far as music is concerned.
Put together by Asaase Radio under the theme ‘A Clash to Crush COVID’, the programme was meant to help raise awareness about the Coronavirus pandemic.
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy took the stage to perform forty (40) back to back hits as patrons looked on in ecstasy.
‘Nominate’ singer, Stonebwoy sent a good message to the youth at the end of the show. He urged them not to engage in activities that will endanger the peace of the country ahead of the December 7 general elections.
At the beginning of the programme, there was a performance by MzVee, after which Dancehall and Reggae Artiste of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Ras Kukuu, and Karmelyeon also thrilled the patrons with their clash.
No winner declared at the end, but the organisers reiterated that the programme was meant to create awareness of the disease.
To most people, this is a good initiative by Asaase Radio which needs to be sustained so to give the music industry some revival.
