A man suspected to have killed his girlfriend has been found dead after he purportedly hanged himself.
The man, Emmanuel Kwakye, suspected to have fatally stabbed his girlfriend, Georgina Sayel, was found dead at the Bronyibima M. A. Basic school in Elmina on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
A day earlier, Georgina Sayel was found dead in Emmanuel Kwakye’s home by a friend of the deceased suspect who reported the case to the University of Cape Coast police station.
She had a deep stab wound on her left rib area and was found drenched in blood.
A search was conducted in the room and a kitchen knife with bloodstains was found in the room.
The victim’s body was deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
At the time Emmanuel Kwakye had fled and was being sought after by police.
But the Elmina District Police received information that a 45-year-old man had committed suicide by hanging at the Bronyibima M. A. Biasic school.
Police immediately proceeded to the said location and found Emmanuel Kwakye.
The case is still under investigation by police.
