The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Odododiodoo constituency in the Greater Accra Region is asking the Ga Traditional Council and clergy to call the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, to order.

The party is accusing Nii Lante Vanderpuye of inciting the NDC youth to embark on violent activities in the area.

This follows Sunday’s clashes between NPP and NDC supporters in the constituency which left more than a dozen persons with injuries.

Addressing the media, the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Odododiodoo constituency, Nii Lante Bannerman said various stakeholders in the community must intervene for peace to prevail.

He also called the police to arrest persons involved in the violent clash.

“I call on the police to as a matter of urgency arrest the NDC thugs and let the law take its full course to serve as a deterrent to their likes. Failing which we will be left with no other option than to take matters into our hands.”

He also called on the Ga Traditional Council to speak up.

“I also call on the Ga Traditional Council, the clergy, Imams, and all well-meaning Ghanaians to call the violent MP to order.”
