The Electoral Commission (EC) is accepting nominations for the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections from today, Monday, October 5, 2020.
The filing of nomination forms for aspirants will end on Friday, October 9, 2020.
In response to COVID-19 protocols, the Commission made the nomination forms available to all political parties as well as independent candidates on its website.
The EC pegged the filing fee for presidential candidates at GHS100,000 and GHS10,000 for parliamentary candidates.
Though the figure was met with mixed reactions, the Electoral Commission defended the figure.
The aspirants are expected to visit the district offices or headquarters of the Electoral Commission to file their forms.
Former President John Dramani Mahama who is leading the opposition National Democratic Congress in the 2020 polls is expected to file his nomination forms on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.
