The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, says the party’s Vice Presidential candidate for the 2020 elections, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, remains the best bet for the country in terms of its educational sector and youth development.
According to Mr. Ofosu Ampofo, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s sterling performance as Education Minister with the establishment of new secondary schools, the construction of E-blocks, improved performance and infrastructural development in schools is what set the basis for the free SHS policy which could not have been possible without this foundation.
He was speaking on the NDC running-mate’s visit to Tepa in the Ahafo Ano North constituency, where she interacted with the chiefs and people as part of her campaign tour of the Ashanti region.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang reiterated her commitment to ensuring national development for all when elected with President John Mahama.
She told the gathering that the party is determined to make this election issue-based and advised supporters to focus on the great track-record of President Mahama and the NDC government when they go to the polls in December.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also reiterated that politics must be a force for good and the NDC is determined to eschew greed in Ghana’s politics and use the people’s power for development.
Tepahene, Daasebre Dr. Nana Adusei Ampem, lauded Prof. Opoku-Agyemang for projects in the area during her tenure as Education Minister, together with her former Deputy, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who is also the Tepa’s Mmerantehene.
The Vice Presidential Candidate also introduced the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ahafo Ano North, Akwasi Adusei, and asked for the people’s support.
Also present were National, Regional and Constituency Executives, and other officials.
