The running mate of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has urged Ghanaians to safeguard the country’s peace ahead of the polls.
Prof. Naana who was speaking at separate rallies in the Upper West Region as part of her two-day campaign tour of the area assured that the next NDC government will vigorously pursue socio-economic development across the country through customised innovative policies that are contained in their manifesto.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang started her two-day campaign tour of the Upper West Region with a courtesy call on the overlord of the Waala Traditional Area, Naa Fuseini Seidu.
“We also want to ask for your partnership, and we want you to join us in preaching the message of peace that we have one country to preserve at all cost.”
Naa Fiseini Pelpuo admonished the two major political parties to be civil in their campaigns.
Prof. Jane Naana and her team then travelled to Kajokperi, where she addressed a mini-rally in the area to end the day one of her campaign tour of the region.
She started day two of her visit at the Rev. Paul Adu Methodist Church where she appealed to the leadership of the church to pay for a peaceful transition.
“It [peace] depends on all of us regardless of where we are; in how we speak, in how we act and how we think and even more importantly in how our actions impact others.
A circuit minister of the church called on the Christian community not to allow themselves to be divided into party lines.
At Piina, the NDC running mate charged Ghanaians to vote massively for the party in the December general election to alleviate the suffering of the masses in the country.
Other communities she visited included Nandom, Lambusie, Lawra, Zambo and Takpo where she ended her tour of the region.
