The Member of Parliament for the Keta constituency, Richard Quashigah has rubbished claims that some members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Keta Constituency of the Volta Region have declared their support for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming polls.
According to him, the supposed 350 members who have defected to the NPP are not members of the party.
Richard Quashigah told Citi News the defection was staged.
He assured party members the NDC will emerge victorious in the elections.
“The NPP must not be tickling themselves and laughing. Nothing has changed in Keta. The people of Keta are solidly behind the NDC, solidly behind Mahama and solidly behind the NDC candidate.”
“Victory is assured. Keta has maintained the highest percentage point as far as the constituency election is concerned and we are going to increase that beyond what it was previously.”
The Keta constituency has been one of the traditional constituencies of the NDC.
