President Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians not to give former President John Mahama the opportunity to use the presidency to correct past mistakes.

Mr. Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has indicated his readiness to correct his party’s mistakes should he win power.

President Akufo-Addo, however, said such sentiment should be ignored.

Addressing a rally at Amasaman as part of his campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region, President Akufo-Addo stressed that the Presidency is not a place to correct mistakes.

“The Presidency of Ghana is not for trial and error. It is not a place for correcting mistakes. It is a place for working; positive work and positive contribution to the development of our country.”

He also said his New Patriotic Party has in the last four years laid a solid foundation for development and needs another four years to continue.

“The New Patriotic Party has the blueprint for the development of our country. We have seen the foundation being laid in Akufo-Addo’s first term of the Presidency.”

“The second term is going to see the fruition and confirmation of the blueprint and the development and rapid transformation of our country,” the NPP flagbearer said.

The President is currently on a two-day tour of the Greater Accra Region.

His final day will begin in the Ablekuma West Constituency, where he will attend a memorial service in honour of the late Theresa Amerley Tagoe at Dansoman Roundabout.

The President will then interact with traders, drivers and the general public at Mallam Market in Sakaman and the Odorkor Lorry Station, all in the Ablekuma North constituency.

He will then proceed to Agbobloshie to hold a durbar with Northern Chiefs, market leaders and identifiable groups at the forecourt of Fio Enterprise, interact with traders, drivers and market leaders at Dome Market and Residents’ Associations from Old Ashongman, Abladjei, Agbogba and Teiman at Ahmadiya School in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency.

He will also interact with Chiefs and Identifiable groups and residents at Atomic Park.

The President will end his tour of the region in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency where he will interact with traders, drivers and the general public.
