The Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Kwame Agyemang-Budu has lauded the immense contribution of the Minister of Energy, Peter Amewu to the energy sector and the strides ECG has made under his leadership.
According to him, the country has enjoyed a stable power supply and improved voltage profile with Mr. Amewu at the helm of affairs in the energy sector.
Leading a delegation from the Electricity Company of Ghana to donate some PPE to a newly constructed medical facility in Gbi Kodzofe, Mr. Agyeman Badu said Mr. Amewu is the best man for Hohoe.
He said the least the constituents of Hohoe could do is to endorse Mr. Amewu’s candidature in the December 7 polls.
“We were approached by our honourable Minister to come and support this CHPS compound. Because the Minister is so hardworking and generous, we thought it is a great idea to come and support this community and this is only the start. We will do more in other communities as well. The Minister is a good man, we encourage you to vote for him massively.”
“We have all seen what he has done, he is not a selfish person. That is why he said he would stand for his people as an MP to change the environment and you can see the change.”
Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Hohoe constituency, Professor Margaret Kweku says her closest contender, John Peter Amewu will not garner more than 12,000 votes in the upcoming polls.
She said she is certain of victory and is in no way threatened by the chances of Mr. Amewu.
Speaking on The Point of View last week, the former MCE said: “Because he [Amewu] throws money around, he gets more votes than the other NPP contestants. He got 10,000 in 2004. In 2008, he got 8,600 votes. I am assuring you that this year if I am kind to him, he will get 12,000 and not more. He uses money to lure people”.
