Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Techiman South constituency are confident that their parliamentary candidate, Adjei Mensah Korsah, will boost the fortunes of the party in the constituency.
According to them, the caring and loving nature of Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah has won the hearts of many.
Speaking to Citi News, a member of Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah’s campaign team, Jerry Amponsah stated that the parliamentary candidate will definitely turn the Techiman South seat into a safe one for the NPP.
“The Techiman South constituency has never seen such a visionary leader like Adjei Mensah Korsah before. He is affable, kind-hearted and welcoming. People come to him with their problems, and he tries as much as possible to solve them, being job-wise, welfare and more. He isn’t even in Parliament yet, but he has begun to construct roads, buildings and so much more. It’s because of these reasons that I say he will definitely make the seat an NPP seat.”
He further stated that “unlike his opponents who engage in tribal politics, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah bases on real issues. He campaigns on policies and what he will do for the people.”
Salamatu Muamin, an NPP member also stated why she will vote for the NPP parliamentary candidate.
“I am looking at a lot of issues to vote this year. We need someone who is welcoming and takes everyone as his own, so I will be voting for Adjei Mensah Korsah. The way he talks, associates with people and his humility says a lot. He has brought a lot of development to the area.”
The Techiman South constituency has been swinging between the NPP and NDC since its creation.
In 2012, NDC’s Adjei Mensah won the seat with a margin of 7,772 votes. He wasn’t that fortunate in 2016 as he was kicked off the seat by NPP’s Henry Yeboah Yiadom-Boachie with a vote margin of 1,573.
Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, who is also the Deputy Minister for Regional Reorganization and Development is running for office on the ticket of the NPP this year, against NDC’s Christopher Beyere.
