There’s confusion at the collation centre in the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
This follows allegations by the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate, Sylvester Tetteh that the electrical infrastructure at the Christian Methodist Senior High collation centre had been tampered with.
He thus stormed the centre with his team and demanded that the ongoing process be stopped.
There are claims that the electrical infrastructure in the original collation room was tampered with on Sunday evening forcing the Electoral Commission (EC) officials to use a new venue on the same compound of the Christian Methodist Senior High School.
Meanwhile, Citi News understands that calm had returned to the place and the process is progressing steadily.
Already, officials of the EC have urged the public to trust them to deliver credible electoral results.
Ghanaians went to the polls on Monday, December 7, 2020, nationwide.
Collation of the polling station results is currently ongoing at the various collation centres in the country.
The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) had said its observers reported 235 cases of various incidents from all the 4,000 polling stations where it deployed observers.
The reported incidents include intimidation/harassment; violation of COVID-19 health and safety protocols, violence of various kinds, unauthorized persons at polling stations, and malfunctioning of biometric devices.
