The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) has picked up the driver of the Deputy National Democratic Congress General Secretary, Peter Boamah Otokunor.
Mr. Otokunor confirmed to Citi News that his driver, Eric Adogla, was picked up early today, Monday, December 21, 2020, without any indication of his alleged wrongdoing.
The lawyer on the case, Victor Adawudu, told Citi News that all frantic efforts to have access to the driver have also been frustrated by the National Investigations Bureau.
Mr. Adawudu also accused the bureau of planning to torture Mr. Adogla, who was picked up at his residence.
“…We [his lawyers] have been denied access to him, and they are not even telling us where he is and when I can access him.”
“This is very unacceptable, and we cannot be intimated like that. I know he is with the BNI, but they want to torture him and all before giving us access to him,” Mr. Adawudu said.
