President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says the peaceful conduct of the special voting is a clear indication the December 7th polls will be the same.
He is therefore charging Ghanaians to conduct themselves well on the election day.
Speaking at the commissioning of a District Police Headquarters at Bantama, President Akufo-Addo reiterated his resolve to ensure that the polls are peaceful.
“Yesterday, police personnel, military personnel and security services were given the opportunity to vote, and we didn’t hear any bad news.”
“In the same vein, next week Monday, when Ghanaians go to vote, there will be no issues. Voting is about making a personal choice and not violence,” the President said.
President Akufo-Addo believes only persons without a message will make attempts at violence on election day.
“For those planning violence, it is because people don’t like their message, and they don’t have anything good to tell Ghanaians which is why they opt for violence.”
A total of 109,577 persons were on the special voting roll, most of whom cast their ballots on December 1 for their preferred presidential and parliamentary candidates across the country.
These persons had special election day assignments.
