The parliamentary candidates of both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Ayawaso West Wuogon represented their parties as polling agents in the special voting exercise held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

The NPP’s Lydia Seyram Alhassan and the NDC’s John Dumelo were spotted at the Legon Police Station conducting the role.

Although it is unknown what informed the decision of the two candidates, some say it is to afford the duo the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the electoral processes ahead of the main poll on December 7, 2020.

The centre has been split into two – Centre A and Centre B with 584 and 582 voters respectively totalling 1,166.

The voting has been smooth with no case of an incident recorded.

The special voting exercise took place in all the 275 centres nationwide on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

A total of 109,577 were expected to vote for their preferred presidential and parliamentary candidates across the country.

The prospective early voters are personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces, National Intelligence Bureau, National Security, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Information Services Department.

The rest are personnel of the National Ambulance Service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Prisons Service, Ghana Journalists Association, Ghana Police Service and National Media Commission.
