Ghana’s 8th Parliament, compared to the previous one will have fairly older legislators on average.

From an average age of 48.2 in the 2017 House, the parliamentarians of the new Parliament have an average of 49 years.

The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Benson Tongo Baba, representing the Talensi constituency will be the oldest MP in the House at age 72.

The youngest MP is the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Francisca Oteng Mensah representing the Kwabre East aged 27 years.

Ms. Oteng Mensah entered Parliament in 2017 at the age of 23. She held the record as the youngest parliamentarian then and maintains that record in the 8th Parliament.
