Two practitioners highlighted the effects of makeup on the skin on Season 9, Episode 9 of the Vodafone Healthline Series.
Senior Cardiologist, Aba Folson suggested that the use of makeup should be reduced to tackle its associated effects.
“It is true that it [makeup] may cause the ageing process to be accelerated. You do not have to do it every day and when you make up, wash it,” she said.
Another Health Practitioner, Dr. Kwekuma Yalley said apart from makeups there are other factors such as sun and exercise that determine how the skin looks.
The next session of the show shed the light on the story of 14-year-old Yakubu who was diagnosed with bone inflammation.
Yakubu was financially assisted by Vodafone to undergo surgery.
Another topic that featured on the show was hypertension and obesity and measures to address it.
Dr. Josephine Akpalu said factors such as diet and lifestyle habits could contribute to hypertension and obesity.
According to Dr. Akpalu, these conditions could lead to complications with other parts of the body including the liver, heart etc.
She suggested that persons at risk of being obese or hypertensive need to exercise more and eat healthily.
The show ended with a few exercises with fitness coach Maabena.
