iReadiLead Campaign is a 10-year strategic educational program launched in January 2020 by Spring-UP Global Network; an NGO committed to advocating for SDG 4, and with the sole aim of raising tomorrow’s informed leaders through effective reading. The campaign focuses on refurbishing and or building new libraries in rural and deprived schools in Ghana, as well as establishing reading clubs in each school to build literacy capacity of children in our rural communities.
The first library under the campaign was refurbished at Yevi D/A Basic School in the Volta Region. Stocked with over 400 books, the library will serve the 300 students in the school. The refurbished library was commissioned on Friday, 5th February, 2021. The NGO also donated exercise books and facemasks to help promote safe learning in the school.
Through the iRead iLead Campaign, Spring-UP Global Network has connected the school to the national energy grid.
The refurbished Yevi D/A Basic School library was commissioned by Miss Akorfa Ama Akoto, President of Spring-UP Global Network and assisted by Mr. Gershon Ntumi, the headmaster of Yevi D/A Basic school. Also in attendance were members of the PTA and community leaders.
“On behalf of the whole community, we want to say thank you. We are assuring you that this library will be put to good use. We want to say THANK YOU to all our donors and amazing volunteers whose support made this happen. ” said Mr. Ntumi as he applauded the work of the NGO.
Spring-UP Global Network is open to partnership with individuals, corporate organizations and agencies who aim to improve basic quality education in rural communities.
