On the last episode of Vodafone Healthline Series, health practitioners discussed whether exercising more is directly proportional to strength.
Health practitioner, Kwekuma Yalley was skeptical exercising often makes an individual stronger.
He said although exercising could lead to building stronger muscles, it does not necessarily make one stronger.
“Exercising can tone the muscles but when it comes strength it takes more than just the muscle. As to whether it is a measure of strength, I doubt.”
The other practitioner, Aba Folson said exercising could keep your cardiovascular system strong and build your muscle bulk but not necessarily lead to strength.
The next session of the show took a recap of stories involving individuals with several medical conditions who had received support from Vodafone.
Dr. Edem Anyigba from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital was also on the show to discuss burns.
He indicated that not all burns are caused by fire.
“ If you have been exposed to a cold object for sometimes it kills the cells and that is also a type of burn.”
He said burns can be treated by applying water to reduce the impact of the pain.
“Commonly it is baking soda that people use but if you have access to water that is most advisable”
He also advised persons with severe burns to seek treatment at a health facility.
The show was signed off with Fitness Coach, Maabena who gave healthy tips on keeping fit through illustrations.
