The Old Students Association of the Accra Girls Senior High School together with the Zongo Development Fund have supported the school with a new entry gate.
The project which was completed last year, to mark the school’s 60th anniversary could not be commissioned due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
During the commissioning exercise recently, the headmistress of the Accra Girls Senior High School, Mrs Andoh indicated that apart from the newly redesigned front gate a temporary gate has been constructed on the Northern side of the school to serve as an alternate access way when the occasion demands.
“The gate is a temporary gate on the Northern side of the school and will serve as temporary passage when the occasion demands,” she said.
The Zongo Development Fund was petitioned by the Old Students Association to support with sponsorship for the construction of the gate and other projects.
National President of the Accra Girls Old Students Association (AGOSA), Wihelmina Arthur said the various year groups of the association are committed to putting up projects for the school and contributing positively to impact the image of the educational institution.
The Girls Prefect of the School, Joyce Enyonam Dzogley deeply expressed her gratitude to the Old Students Association and their sponsors for the good work done and called for their continuous contribution towards the school’s growth.
“At first, the school’s gate was in a very bad shape. Security-wise, we were not safe. The new gate is really nice. It has beautified the school, and it gives the students a sense of pride. We appreciate the gesture, and we wish you will do more for us”.
The Accra Girls Senior High School is ranked among the first class Senior High Schools in the country.
