The Cedar Mountain Chapel International of the Assemblies of God Church, Shiashie, Accra, has donated GHS25,000 in support of the Citi FM Foundation’s 30-bed girls’ dormitory project for the Baptist School Complex and Orphanage (BASCO), at Trotor near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
Lead Pastor of the church, Rev. Stephen Y. Wengam, presented a cheque for the amount during the dedication of Cedar Mountain’s new temple in Accra.
“Citi FM is constructing a dormitory block for an orphanage [in the Eastern Region]. At Cedar Chapel, we don’t have much, but we understand giving, and we stretch ourselves beyond boundaries. The Bible commands us to care for orphans and the deprived in society. So on this occasion, we decided to support the Citi FM project by donating this amount of money for the purchase of 500 bags of cement bags to support the Easter Orphan project,” he said.
The 30-bed capacity project is in fulfillment of the station’s commitment to see many of the orphaned girls, who cannot be accepted into the institution due to the lack of space, admitted.
Already, processes have been initiated for the commencement of construction on the project.
The BASCO girls’ dormitory project is expected to be completed in three months.
The Citi FM Foundation had asked its cherished listeners and viewers of Citi TV to support the project.
Contributions can be made to the Mobile Money Number: 0550 900 006.
Cheques should be written to: THE CITI FM Foundation.
Alternatively, donations can be made at the front desk of Citi FM and Citi TV, behind the Adabraka Police Station, in Accra.
