The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said he is very interested in making sure that the newly created Western North Region is developed.
President Akufo-Addo said he will be held responsible if the government fails to bring the needed infrastructural development to the region hence his interest.
He maintained that two years into the creation of the new region, more needs to be done to develop it.
President Akufo-Addo made the remark when spoke at the inauguration of the Western North Regional Coordinating Council in Sefwi-Wiawso as part of his tour of the region on Monday, September 6, 2021.
He thus assured the residents that he will do everything within his power to bring the needed development to the region.
“The structures and the developments that are ongoing in the Western North Region are of great concern to me because I know if they are not executed well, I will be held responsible. So I have a vested interest in making sure that Western North Region gets the needed progress it requires.”
President Akufo-Addo on Friday, September 3, 2021, began a four-day tour of the Western and Western North Regions.
The tour was the president’s first visit to the two regions after the 2020 election.
President Akufo-Addo is expected to embark on a two-day two of the Oti and Volta Regions from Thursday, September 9, 2021.
