The newly nominated metropolitan chief executive for the Tamale Metropolis, Sule Salifu, has pledged to work closely with relevant stakeholders in the metropolis to develop the area should he be confirmed.

The nominee, who was speaking to the media after the announcement of his nomination said based on his expertise and experience, he will consult broadly on every issue of development in the metropolis to deliver the much-needed development to residents.

While thanking President Akufo-Addo for nominating him, he said he believes the nomination will inspire more young people in the Northern Region and the Tamale metropolis to work hard.

He said he is appreciative of the fact that President Akufo-Addo rewarded his loyalty and dedication to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with the nomination.

“[The President has] inspired the youth of the region with this appointment and I would have to say a big thank you to His Excellency for rewarding hard work and loyalty to the cause of the NPP in the region.”

Sule Salifu, who is the Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency and also the current Director of Communications for the NPP in the Northern Region, said he has already established good rapport with the relevant stakeholders in the metropolis and he will make use of those associations.

“It is impossible for the mayor if am confirmed to work alone. We have to consult broadly. I am prepared to bring the experience and expertise to bare so that the Tamale Metro will be given a facelift under His Excellency Akufo-Addo,” he said.

“I will work with traditional rulers, assembly members, religious leaders and the youth in the metropolis, party executives and the media and all those who matter in shaping and championing the development aspirations of the Tamale metropolis.”
