The Founder and Advisor-in-Chief of the International Youth Fellowship, Rev. Dr. Ock Soo has said that the Mindset Education Concept remains the ultimate tool for developing young people within Africa and the rest of the world.
Pastor Ock Soo Park said this during a meeting with the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, during his 9-day evangelism tour of four African countries (Kenya, Ghana, Ivory Coast, & Togo).
In July 2021, Dr. Bawumia participated in the IYF Youth Camp via Zoom and delivered a congratulatory message to young people around the world.
During Rev. Park’s visit this time, Dr. Bawumia welcomed Rev. Park, saying, “It is a great honour to meet you, Pastor. The President is well aware that you are doing lots of good job around the world.”
The Vice President expressed interest in the ‘mindset education concept’ when Rev. Park introduced it to him.
Dr. Bawumia affirmed in his response for the establishment of a youth centre to facilitate the teaching and learning of the concept.
During the meeting, Rev. Ock Soo Park gifted a copy of the ‘Mind Education Concept’ textbooks to the Vice President and proposed that the concept has been piloted in some selected educational institutions and later evaluated to confirm its effectiveness.
“I will make sure that the Minister for Education can work together with you,” Dr. Bawumia said.
Rev. Park recounted that since he discovered the ‘Mindset Education’ from the scriptures, he does not hesitate to open the Bible to preach the gospel to anyone he meets, especially when he gets interviewed by renowned media houses.
Rev. Park on his tour to some four African countries, held meetings with resource persons from all walks of life from political figures, to academia, and leaders at the forefront of Religion and Christianity.
Cardinal among the meetings were the meetings with the Kenyan Vice President; William Ruto, Ghana’s Vice President; Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Togo’s Prime Minister; Victoire Tomegah Dogbe, Senior Members of the Ivorian Government and Bishops of Churches.
He also championed partnership discussions and how to use the ‘Mindset Education Concept’ as a tool to effect transformation among the young people with the purpose of developing them for the tasks ahead.
In Côte d’Ivoire, a clinical trial for Buruli ulcer was being conducted with the support of the city Mayor of Abidjan.
Rev. Ock Soo Park shared his vision for the cure of the disease with the Minister for Competence Building and Anti-Corruption, the Minister for Reconciliation and the Alliance, and the President of the Hospital Association.
Rev. Park arrived in Ghana on 3rd November 2021 and immediately went into a press conference – a room filled beyond capacity – to address the press on his mission to Ghana.
In his keynote address to the journalists present, Rev. Ock Soo Park narrated his encounter with the former First Lady of Ghana, H. E. Naadu Mills, when she delivered a congratulatory message during the 2012 youth camp in Tema.
He recounted how the former First Lady invited him for a brief prayer meeting with H. E. John Evans Atta Mills of blessed memory at the presidential palace – an invitation he honoured – and preached the gospel to him and prayed for him five clear hours before his passing.
On the same day, Rev. Ock Soo Park had another conference with pastors and the general public – a gathering of more than 2,000 people – at the Perez Dome, Dzorwulu.
Bishop Kenneth Ahmed Quarshie of the Free Methodist Church in Ghana, delivered a congratulatory address, which was followed by a brief message from Rev. Ock Soo Park.
In his sermon, Rev. Park said; “The work of God happens when our hearts and God’s heart get connected, just like a microphone works by generating radio waves when electricity flows through it.”
He further explained the details of the heart of God which establishes the ‘New covenant’ in Romans chapter 8.
He also made references to Jeremiah 31:34; “…we have sinned, and Jesus has forgiven us” and used it to explain how he preached the gospel to Ghana’s former President, John Evans Atta Mills of blessed memory some few hours before his passing.
He again quoted Romans 3:23-24 to demonstrate the gospel of redemption to the participants.
CLEAN HEART, CLEAN ACCRA PROJECT
“Clean heart, Clean Accra Conference” was held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on 4th November 2021.
The Accra Metropolitan Assembly hosted this event and the Mayor, Mrs Elizabeth Sackey, attended.
An estimated number of 2000 people also participated in this programme.
The programme was designed to campaign for the “Clean Accra Project” as launched by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo days before this conference.
“I am grateful for hosting this event by the IYF, and I think the heart defines everything and I think this conference is timely. The IYF came up with a clever idea to solve the hygiene problem. This sanitation problem is a serious problem faced by many countries due to rapid urbanization. Accra is currently at war with plastic waste. A change in attitude through education is necessary to solve the hygiene problem. I think that if you have a healthy mind through IYF’s mind education, awareness of a healthy environment will increase,” Mrs Elizabeth Sackey – Mayor of Accra said.
