Despite the continuous closure of Ghana’s land borders at the height of the COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020, many people continue to move in and out between Ghana and Togo illegally by land.
While a few persons are granted official exemptions to move between the two countries by Immigration officials, there is a booming trade with regard to people assisting others to cross between the two countries illegally facilitated by border residents and some Immigration officials.
