Oxygn Digital, one of the companies alleged to have received money into an individual’s account for no work done for Textiles Ghana Limited, has since refunded $2000 into the accounts of Textiles Companies Limited.
Ike Adotey Addo, the owner of the Oxygn Digital company, was alleged by workers of the Textiles Ghana Limited to have unduly won a contract based on his relation to the MD of the Textile Ghana Limited despite not registering his company at the Registrar General’s Department.
An Ecobank deposit slip, an invoice, and an attached statement sighted by Citi News indicate that the money was refunded following a series of agitations by workers of Textile Ghana Limited demanding the removal of the Managing Director from office.
Meanwhile, the MD of the Textile Ghana Limited, producers of GTP, and Woodin fabrics has since been chased out of her office by the aggrieved workers.
A meeting scheduled by the Minister of Trade to resolve the penning issues ended inconclusively, but the workers have since returned to work on the condition that they won’t encounter the MD in and around the company’s premises.
