Dext Technology partners Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Education on Practical STEM Project

Ghanaian startup, Dext Technology Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with the Sierra Leonean Ministry of Education to implement a practical STEM project in some selected districts in Sierra Leone.

The project aims at equipping both learners and teachers with the needed skills and resources to make the teaching and learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics more practical, engaging and exciting.

Since its inception in 2017, Dext has been an active player in Ghana’s STEM ecosystem and has continued to reaffirm its commitment to revolutionize the teaching and learning of STEM with its key product, the Science Set.

In 2018, the African Union adjudged the Dext Science Set as the most innovative solution for education on the African continent. Dext Technology has also initiated and partnered many local organizations on several STEM projects across Ghana.

According to Mr. Caleb Fugah, the director of strategy for Dext Technology Limited, the goal of Dext has always been to inspire students across the continent with its innovation, the Dext Science Set and believes international collaborations with progressive Government entities such as the Ministry of Education in Sierra Leone is critical to achieving this goal.

In a letter signed by Mr. Alimamy Kamara, the Deputy Director of Education, Pujehun District and representative of the Minister for education in Sierra Leone on the project, pledged the Ministry’s support and commitment to the project.

A team from Dext Technology will be in Sierra Leon from Sunday, March 20, 2022 to Saturday, March 26, 2022 to organize a preliminary workshop and exhibition for teachers and also to meet officials from the ministry of education to discuss the collaboration in details.

About Dext Technology

Dext Technology is an organization that develops and deploys innovative, user friendly and affordable tools for the effective learning of basic Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Their key product, the science set is an affordable science toolbox that contains 45 individual materials for over 38 experiments and is small enough to fit on a student’s desk.

There are currently over 40,000 students in Ghana, United Kingdom and the United States with access to our science sets.

The vision of the company is to create a culture of practical education in schools and also to ensure that every learner has their personal laboratory as affordable as their text books and it shall be made in Africa.
