Children at the Mama Laadi Orphanage at Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, who could not report to Senior High Schools (SHS) over their inability to afford some school items have received support from the Citi FM Foundation.
The continuous stay of these children at home while their colleagues commence academic work was negatively affecting them.
However, on Easter Monday, the Citi FM Foundation with support from donors assisted the children to report to school immediately.
Items including rice, cooking oil, cartons of milk, soap among others were presented to support the operations of the facility.
Founder of the orphanage, Mama Laadi Awuni, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention.
The Mama Laadi Orphanage was established in 2006 to rescue street children. These children are catered for to realize their full potentials.
The children’s home has 150 children, 15 of whom are either currently in the orphanage assisting foster homes or are in tertiary institutions.
Children’s pastor at the orphanage, Joseph Abongo, commended The Citi FM’s Easter Orphanage Project for coming to its aid.
Some beneficiaries of the orphanage have pledged to support their colleagues should they obtain jobs.
The orphanage has been a constant beneficiary of The Citi Easter Orphan Project.
