Vodafone Ghana through its Healthline program has gone to the aid of seven-year-old Charles who was suffering from Hirschsprung disease; a condition of the large intestine (colon) that causes difficulty in passing stool.
Charles, when born had no medical complications until he was diagnosed with Hirschsprung at age two.
When Vodafone Ghana heard about Little Charles’ condition which the family had managed for 5 years without any support for surgery, The Healthline team took the opportunity to save him from further suffering of his condition.
Father of Charles, who was elated about Vodafone’s assistance in carrying out the surgery on his son, expressed his appreciation for the kind gesture.
“Everyone needs a support system. I did not have any means of financing this surgery until Vodafone said they were willing to assist me. Who would I have turned to without Vodafone’s assistance?” he said on Episode 5, season 10 of Vodafone Healthline Series.
Further in the episode, Dr. Isaac Adomako, a Physician Specialist highlighted the benefits of vaccines.
He explained that “Vaccines get into the body to protect. They generally belong to a group of processes called immunization,”
