Over 1,200 delegates have converged in the Kumasi metropolis to elect executives to lead the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG).
A total of 18 persons are contesting to occupy six positions in the Association.
The aspirants have intensified their campaign at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where the elections will take place.
Some delegates who have been sharing their expectations with Citi News ahead of the elections want contestants who will be elected to address key concerns affecting the Association.
“We are expecting a peaceful election and then making sure that the right person is also elected, in terms of Local organisation. We hope that we all come together to push a common agenda, irrespective of the results.”
“Some concerns of NALAG have been over allowances. We pray and hope that the right leaders are elected to push the agenda of the association.”
