Aloe Vera, a 2020 Ghanaian film directed by Peter Sedufia will premiere on Netflix on August 5, 2022.
This is part of the strategies by the producers to make a lot of people across the world get access to the film.
After successful cinema premieres of the film in 2020, it has also made its way into about 9 Francophone countries following a collaboration with Canal Olympia, the largest cinema chain in francophone Africa.
In Aloe Vera, two groups of people live in the same village, the Aloes and the Veras. There is a harsh rivalry between them that endures even with the children, and each side is marked by their own trademark color.
When the children of the town leaders’, Aloewin and Veraline, fall in love, they must find a way to bring the two communities together despite the animosity. The community later on become one as a result of the relationship between the two.
‘Aloe Vera’ was produced by Manaa Abdallah and Anny Araba Adams.
The film features Aaron Adatsi, Grace Omaboe, Nana Ama McBrown, Fiifi Coleman, Fred Amugi, and Adjetey Anang.
Others are Priscilla Opoku Agyeman, Gloria Safo, Roselyn Ngissah, Beverly Afaglo, Naa Ashorkor, and Benjamin Adaletey
Kofi Adjorlolo, Kobina Amissah-Sam, Rhoda Okobea Ampene, Akofa Edjeani Asiedu, Edinam Atatsi, among others, are also featured in the film.
This is not the first time a movie by Peter Sedufia has made it to the online streaming giant; his previous movies, Side Chic Gang and Keteke also streamed on Netflix.

Netflix has about 214 million global paid memberships, which means Aloe Vera stands a chance of getting a lot of eyeballs across the world.
