Meek Mill’s apology sincere, let’s accept it – Ablakwa

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has welcomed Meek Mill’s apology to Ghanaians.

He said the apology seems sincere and urged Ghanaians to accept it.

“It does appear Meek Mill’s multiple apologies to Ghanaians are quite sincere & should be accepted by all. My only serious reservation, however, is his claim that he engaged in all that deplorable desecration & major security breach on the blind side of officials. Is the President safe? Is Ghana safe? This has, without a scintilla of doubt, further justified earlier demands for urgent investigations & severe sanctions,” the legislator posted on Twitter.

Mr. Ablakwa was incensed when a video, shot in and around the Jubilee House by Meek Mill and his crew, during ther visit to the Presidency was posted on Instagram.

The North Tongu lawmaker went on to call for the dismissal of “all those responsible for the despicable desecration of the Jubilee House.”

But less than 24 hours after the posting of the video which attracted widespread criticism, Meek Mill came out with an apology to Ghanaians.

He wrote on his Twitter handle that the video was not meant to disrespect Ghanaians.

“To the people of Ghana, no video I drop is ever meant to disrespect the people of Ghana ….The fastest way to make [a] connection is through music and I wanted to do that by displaying art… I’m in my 30s from America and didn’t know much about the lifestyle here”.

“My apologies to the people [of Ghana] if [there was] any disrespect! We still gonna push to make the connection between black people in America and Africa… What I’m trying to do is more than a video, and you should see [more] coming soon! My apologies to the office [of the President] also!”
