The Nobel International Business School (NiBS) has launched its Certified Innovation Professional (CIP) program
The goal of the program is to increase the internal ability of business executives and organizations to create and accelerate profitable growth through innovation.
It was launched on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the NiBS campus in Shiashie, Accra.
In his speech, NiBS President, Prof. Atuahene Kwaku Gima emphasized the importance of innovation in modern corporate operations and the potential for employees to adapt to these advancing trends.
“I think the reason is that we have not emphasized the importance of innovation training and capacity building in leaders and organizations. When a nation accepts that innovation is critical to its development, it must take action to build innovation capacity in the public and private sectors. This capacity building requires corporate leadership knowledge, skills, and competencies and those of their managers and employees.”
He also emphasized the expansion of NiBS initiatives targeted at fostering innovation in the business environment.
He particularly mentioned, its recently launched Government and Public Sector Innovation (GPSI) program, and the Service Strategy & Leadership Programs are among the most important of these.
These programs are specifically designed to help leadership of Ghanaian organizations improve their innovative skills, knowledge, and competencies.
“A fundamental principle in building a culture of innovation is that organizations do not innovate; people do. For this reason, executives need to nurture an innovation culture across the entire organization because innovation responsibility is for everyone, every time, everywhere in the organization”, Prof. Gima stressed.
Government support
Special Guest at the event, Minister of Science, Environment, Technology, and Innovation, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie expressed government’s commitment to promoting the use of technology and innovation in the corporate environment.
“Ghana’s government has been at the vanguard of science and technology advancement, achieving remarkable progress in recent years. It is no secret that the Government of Ghana has implemented various initiatives and policies to promote innovation and research in the country. The Government of Ghana has demonstrated a significant commitment to fostering innovation in the country through various initiatives and policies. This is evident in the strategic interventions and investments in multiple sectors of the economy, including education.”
The Minister commended NiBS in particular for establishing the Certified Innovation Professional (CIP) program.
This, in his opinion, will go a long way toward reviving businesses and their leaders.
“The CIP by Nobel International Business School (NiBS) is designed to build the internal capacity of organizations for generating and accelerating profitable growth through innovation. The CIP here at NiBS aims to change that by developing an elite group of expert innovation leaders who apply the best practices for generating and implementing new ideas, advancing collaboration on critical projects, and capturing the value of innovation”, he emphasized.

Anyone in any private or public organization who wishes to stand out from the crowd via skills and competencies in creativity and innovation can benefit from the training.
